The Summary Care Record (SCR) – emergency care summary

The NHS in England is using an electronic record called the Summary Care Record (SCR) to support patient care.

The SCR is a copy of key information from a patient’s GP record. It provides authorised healthcare staff with faster, secure access to essential information about a patient when they need unplanned care or when the patient’s GP practice is closed, for example, the medication a patient is taking.

To find out more about the SCR, please visit the NHS digital website.
