Meeting of south-east London's primary care joint commissioning committee
Primary care services and particularly local GP surgeries are the first point of contact in the healthcare system for residents. From the 1 April 2015, NHS Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), along with the other five CCGs in south-east London, has taken greater responsibility and involvement in the design, shaping and commissioning of local general practices, in a joint commissioning arrangement with NHS England.
This new arrangement will enable the CCG to work more closely with those responsible for securing the provision of general practice, NHS England, and will support local plans to improve primary care services in the borough.
This joint approach between CCGs and NHS England is referred to as the co-commissioning of primary care and NHS Bexley CCG will now begin meeting regularly in a joint committee, in public, to consider and take decisions on local services together.
These are meetings held in public and members of the public are invited to attend and submit questions in advance by emailing email@example.com stating which agenda item it refers to.
