Bexley Stop Smoking Service

Would you like to stop smoking, but need some advice on the best place to start?

If you’re a smoker, registered with a Bexley GP and need access to a prescription for nicotine replacement patches or oral medications such as Champix, or advice on quitting, let the Bexley Stop Smoking Team be your first point of call.  They can offer free advice, guidance, moral support and weekly appointments to help you through your quit journey.

The best reason to stop smoking is because you want to. However, smoking is a very powerful addiction and you’re less likely to succeed if you try to give up on your own. Evidence shows that smokers are four times more likely to stop smoking with the help of their local stop smoking service. Bexley’s service has the highest success rate in London. *

We all know the many health benefits to giving up smoking and specialist advisors from Bexley Stop Smoking Team are on hand to offer you one to one advice as you make that life-changing shift from smoker to non-smoker. The Stop Smoking team is able to provide free support five days a week at a number of Bexley GP Practices as well as four days a week in the following community settings:

  • Mondays: Erith District Hospital, Park Crescent, 10am to 1pm
  • Tuesdays: Danson Children’s Centre 5pm to 8pm
  • Wednesdays: the Mobile Quit Bus based outside Morrisons in Erith, 9.30am to 1 pm
  • Thursdays: drop-in support at Central Library Bexleyheath, 4.45pm to 6.45pm If you are pregnant and want to quit, the Bexley stop smoking team can provide advice, treatment and support to stop

All appointments need to be made through the Stop Smoking Team by calling 0800 7832514 to book an appointment or self-referring through the website: www.smokefreebexley.co.uk. Your own GP Practice may no longer provide a clinic but you can attend any of the other GP clinic settings or community settings.
