Engaging our Communities
At the CCG, we understand the importance of reaching out to people in our community, rather than expecting people to come to us, and ask how they want to be involved in their local NHS. This helps us to make sure we talk to people in ways that are accessible to them, for instance by using Easy Read or a translator.
We have great relationships with a wide range of community groups in Bexley and often take part in community events, coffee mornings and support groups. Being in the community helps us to talk to people in a place where they feel supported and relaxed to share their experiences of health and healthcare.
In the coming months, we will be visiting a number of groups including Bexley Voice, Asian women’s group, Bexley Mencap, Mind in Bexley’s carers group and Bexley Inter-faith forum.
